Born in Belgium, Dr. Seru received his first degree in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Techniques at the prestigious University of Leuven in Belgium and his second as Doctor of Chiropractic at the Sherman College of Chiropractic in the USA.
Dr. Seru is a member of the European Chiropractic Union (ECU) and was treasurer and vice president of the AIC ( Italian Chiropractic Association). He also held the position of President and Vice-President of the International College of Applied Kinesiology-Europe and of the Italian Association of Applied Kinesiology (AIKA).
From 1980 to 1994 he was the Chiropractor of Basketball Cantu, who during this period won several Italian Championships and twice the European Championships.
In 1987 the majority of the USA track and field team stayed a month in Como, before the track and field world championships in Rome, and the top athletes were evaluated and adjusted regularly( some up to four times a week if they were injured) at the Sanrocco clinic. That gave Dr. Seru the opportunity to treat athletes like Jackie Joyner,Diane Dixon, Greg Foster, John Brenner, Florence Griffith etc. ( 29 of the 41 became finalists or won a medal). In the meantime more than a hunderd world champions have been treated or are in treatment at Sanrocco. From skiing, shooting, golf, soccer, basketball, sailing, cycling, swimming, volleyball, track and field, rowing etc.
Already in 1997 Dr. Seru received the award of “Chiropractor of the Year”at the European Chiropractic Congress.
In 1994 he published his first book “A Guide to Chiropractic” in three languages: italian, french and spanish.
He teaches courses in english, french, italian and dutch for chiropractors and students at chiropractic universities or for chiropractic associations throughout Europe and now also in South America.
Dr.Seru has published many articles on the relationship between the dura madre, temporomandibular joint, feet and posture.
Since 1995 he has taught in Italy and europe on how to integrate: postural analysis, static or dynamic palpation and the main Chiropractic techniques (Sacred Occipital Technique, Applied Kinesiology, Total Body Modification, Gonstead, BEST, Upper cervical, Diversified and NLP) in a functional way during each chiropractic visit especially the first one.
His seminars are a profound analysis of the art, philosophy and clinical science of chiropractic. Presented in a synthetic, logical, essential and accurate way to allow participants to apply this knowledge immediately to their patients.
Not only has he conceived the basic ideas for the Sanrocco method (see the Sanrocco method) but with his team he updates constantly this method with the most advanced and effective techniques in order to obtain with each patient excellent and lasting results in only a few treatments.
He has been practicing since 1981 at the renowned Sanrocco Chiropratica clinic in Como, Italy, of which he became owner in 1993. Since then he has developed and expanded the clinic with an international group of 11 chiropractors to become one of the most successful chiropractic clinics in the world.
Over the last 20 years the clinic has averaged over 3500 new patients per year with no insurance, no advertising, no physical therapy, no reimbursement, high fees and no gimmicks. Everything is based on patients who have benefited and had reduction or total disappearance of their pains and talked about the clinic to other people in need.
One of the most important reason for this success, apart from sharing the same philosophy, is the basic “first visit protocol” used by all chiropractors in the clinic. Although each chiropractor practices his own techniques in his own way, the basic first visit protocol is the fundamental first step in quickly and clearly distinguishing the true causes of the patients problems. This protocol indicates the type and order of treatment they must follow in order to get well. It gives priority systems (from teeth to feet), that must not be missed and have to be adjusted first, independent of the patient symptoms, if you want to put the natural healing mechanisms in motion.
After 37 years of experience and having personally visited and treated more than 50000 patients, he developed a protocol to recognize and fix in a short time (usually 4 or 5 visits) the causes of the following symptoms: herniated disks, low back and cervical pain, headaches, whiplash, dizziness, vertigo, chronic fatigue, pubalgia, and ankle, knee, hip shoulder and TMJ problems. There are many types of symptoms without any apparent cause, where he not only found many different causes but also how to fix them. So far, over 500 different types of back/neck pain have been discovered and treated successfully.
His motto is:
- Give patients unconditional love, think intentional healing, observe, study, read about all aspects of chiropractic, think and write down what you want to get, act upon it, and give thanks for what you really get.
